How to take screenshots in windows 10 using Different Methods?

Taking screenshots on your Windows PC has become part and of our everyday activity on computers. If you want to show someone a picture or a piece of text without needing the whole window, then it’s more convenient to take a screenshot than to send links or copy paste the entire content elsewhere.

How to take a screenshot in Windows 10

There are several ways which using you can easily take screenshots on your Windows 10 computer.

1.Snipping tool 
That is Windows built-in Tool. So, Windows comes with an inbuilt Snipping tool which enables you to take screenshots easily. By using this tool, you can choose which part of the window or screen we want to Snip or we can capture the entire screen. Snipping tool also provides the facility to Snip in a free form shape, as well as the facility to Snip in a rectangular shape. Here is how to use the Snipping tool to take screenshots:
1.   Click on the Start button and type Snipping Tool.
2.   Then, select the Snipping tool.
3.    Now a small window will open. This is the Snipping tool.
4.  Then select the drop-down arrow next to the NEW option, where you will be asked to choose among Free Form Snip, Rectangular Snip, Window Snip, and Full-Screen Snip. Choose whichever option you prefer and select the area you want to take a screenshot of.
5.  The Snipping tool also offers options to copy snips to the clipboard, prompt to save snips before exiting, as well as allowing you to select the ink color with which you want to select your snips.
 


2. Using Print Screen key 
With that method, you can easily take a screenshot without any third party software. On your keyboard, you will find the PrtScn key right next to the F key series. let see how to capture a screenshot using PrtScn key:
  1. When you want to take the screenshot from your display, press the PrtScn key in your keyboard that right next to the F key series.
  2. Then search Paint in the search box of Taskbar.
  3. Press the Ctrl + V key to paste the screenshot in the paint. Now screenshot will appear on the pain screen. To save it, simply click on the file option and save it to your desired location. If you want to send it to someone, choose to Send to instead of Save from the File menu.
  4.  Though Paint doesn’t enable customization regarding the shape of the screenshot, it does let you grasp and reposition an image for a few seconds before it fades away.  


3. Using Alt key  
While the above method talked about capturing a screenshot of the entire screen using PrtScn key & Paint, this method deals with capturing a screenshot of just your active desktop window. Here’s how,
1.      Press Alt+PrtScn key.
2.      Then, click on the Start button and type Paint and press enter.
3.      Press CTRL + V key to paste that screenshot. Then, your screenshot will appear now. 



4. Using the Windows key 
This is the easiest method that you can take a screenshot without using any software. With only two buttons in your keyboard, you can take a screenshot easily. As mention above that doesn’t require any software usage. 

1.      Press Win+PrtScn keys.
2.      Now the open Computer and navigate to Pictures under This PC
3.    Go to This PC -->> Pictures -->> Screenshots.
4.     Then open Screenshots. The screenshot you just took will show up there. 



5. The Command Prompt method  
You can even use Command Prompt in order to take screenshots. Other methods may be quicker and easier to follow than that method, but this one is really useful too. Here are the steps,

1.    First, you will need to download a free utility known as NirCmd, easily available on the 
Internet.
2.    Install the above utility and run as an administrator. When the NirCmd box opens, click on 
Copy to Windows Directory.
3.    Right click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin).
4. In the Command Prompt window, type: nircmd.exe savescreenshot
“Drive:\examplescreenshot.png”
5.   Then replace Drive with the name of the actual drive you want to save screenshots in, and
 “example screenshot” is to be replaced with the name on the screenshot.
6.    Other utilities like that NirCmd are available on the Internet, you can use any as you prefer or 
find trustworthy.



6. Use Third-party apps
By using third party software you can easily take a screenshot of your windows PC display. There are a lot of soft wares that can easily find out on the internet.

8. Using the Windows key 
This is the easiest method that you can take a screenshot without using any software. With only two buttons in your keyboard, you can take a screenshot easily. As mention above that doesn’t require any software usage. 

1.   Press Win+PrtScn keys.
2.  Now open the Computer and navigate to Pictures under This PC. Go to This PC -->> Pictures -->> Screenshots.
3.   Then open Screenshots. The screenshot you just took will show up there.

To take screenshots on our computer, we usually use Windows built-in Snipping Tool or a third-party screen capture software. However, when we want to put that screen image into an MS Office document it should be much easier if we have to use Office built-in screenshot function. With that, the picture that captured in Office can be automatically inserted to the Office document, which will save you from copying and pasting one screenshot from other locations into the document.


8. Using MS office
By using MS office word and Excel sheet you can take screenshot easily without any third party app.

How to take a screenshot with MS Office 2016

 Step 1:  Open an Office 2016 document, such as an MS Word document.

 Step 2:  Then select the Insert tab on the ribbon, then click the Screenshot button under the illustration section. There you will see two options, as available Windows and Screen Clipping.


Under the Available Windows section, it shows thumbnail previews of opened windows on your PC desktop. If you want to get a screenshot of the available window, just select its thumbnail. Then its screenshot will be displayed in the Word Document. If you want to manually take a screenshot from the screen, then click the Screen Clipping button and continue with the next steps.

  Step 3:  After the Screen Clipping button is clicked, the Word screen temporarily exists and a transparent haze covers the whole screen. Navigate to the area where you want to take a screenshot, then press and hold the left mouse button to select and highlight the area.   

  Step 4:  Release the left mouse button. The selected area on the screen can be captured and displayed in the Word document. Also, the Picture Tools is opened. You can edit the screenshot as your desire.

If you want to save the screenshot, right click on it and select Save as Picture from the menu. Then give it a name, select one image format (*.png, *.jpg, etc.), and select one location to save the screenshot as a picture.

Similarly, you can take screenshots in MS Excel and PowerPoint 2016 app using the screenshot feature under the Insert tab. There is another method that you can take a desktop screenshot easily. Let see how we can take a screen capture with Microsoft office.
